It’s been my summer goal this year to dress more colorfully, but that’s easier said than done when 90% of my wardrobe is black and grey. And it’s not that I don’t enjoy the fact… More
This recent collection by Deandri has been by far my favorite! Why? Comfort, built in corset details, and most importantly, POCKETS!!! Each of the four dresses i’ve featured in this lookbook include two pockets at the hip!
This set of outfits specifically features probably my most favorite Deandri piece ever, The Sully. This dress is made of soft jersey, allowing stretch that their other fabrics don’t. It features a zipperless design with a single button closure at the collar, an adjustable corset that can be worn in front or back, and did i mention the freAKIN POCKETS?!?! I definitely recommend The Sully or The Minnie if it’s your first time purchasing from Deandri and aren’t sure about your sizing! I also go a little more into fit and sizing in my previous posts featuring Deandri so make sure to check out Springtime Goth ft Deandr part 1 and Romantic AF!
Okay so, it’s finally time! I’m so happy to share part 2 of my very first lookbook with you all! (Click any smaller image to see larger view)
Here’s all the ‘tails:
This little project has helped me realize that out of all the pieces involved in outfit blogging, styling is by far what I’m most passionate about! I love modelling of course, but planning accessories and creating outfits is truly what makes my heart sing! Creating different looks for these dresses was such a fun challenge in styling and I had a blast!
Thank you so much to every single of you that has said kind words about this collection of pictures, and to all of you that have taken time out of your day to visit my little blog! I can’t wait to get started on my next lookbook!
Another post about Deandri? So soon?? Hell yes! I recently received four new gloriously gothy dresses from Deandri’s most recent collection, and I couldn’t resist showing you babes as soon as possible!
If you’ve read my last review type post on Deandri, you already know I’ve made quite a few outfits in the past featuring their dresses, collars and vegan-leather accessories, so I wanted to make this batch extra special! I decided to make my first lookbook style post!
I packed up the car, and spent the weekend driving around town with my love, shooting unique looks for each of the four dresses! Here’s some of my favorite’s from the first two outfits(click any smaller image for a larger view):
Now lemme give you the sitch:
Dress: Nosferatu Dress by Deandri (Sz 4x, would recommend sizing up 1 or 2 sizes if you have large arms or breasts since thees fabrics don’t stretch much)
Belt: Front Cincher Belt by Deandri ( Sz L-XXL, I have it on the last notch & I’m a 48′ waist for reference)(Also, I have it upside down bc I thought it was cute lol)
Shoes: T.U.K Footwear (I’m wearing sz 10)
Earrings: by Marina Fini from Tunnel Vision
Dress: Roselle Dress(Mid-length) by Deandri (Sz 5x would recommend sizing up 2 sizes if you have large arms or breasts since this fabric doesn’t stretch much, I had to open up the arms underneath to fit comfortably)
Belt: Front Lace Corset Belt by Deandri (Sz L-XXL, the string used to lace up is elastic for extra comfort!)
Shoes: T.U.K Footwear (Sz 10)
Glasses: Zenni Optical
I can’t tell you enough how incredibly proud I am of what came out of our little weekend project! Not only is this my first lookbook, but it was the first time we’ve ever really adventured outside my backyard to take pictures! Not mention, it was only like the second time my boyfriend had helped me take pictures with this camera! We’re both photography noobs, but he is such a natural, and I am so happy to have a partner that’s willing to drive through mud and take pictures in the pouring rain with me!
Part 2 coming soon! I can’t wait for y’all to see the whole shabang!
An independent woman-run alt brand serving up vegan leather bondage and dresses straight out of Wednesday Addams dreams? AND they carry up to size 5x?!? Sign me the fuck up!
It might be gloomy and 55 degrees outside(I’m in central California so that’s pretty cold! Let me live!), but i’m still all about crop tops! The crop top trend marked an important step for me in experimenting with styles outside of my comfort zone, and no “trends that need to die” lists are going to stop me from showing off my round, stretch mark covered midriff!
Unfortunately for weekday workers like my boyfriend and I, Valentine’s Day fell on a Tuesday this year. That meant spending the night making spaghetti and eating chocolates in front of the t.v. in lieu of the usual dinner and a movie date night. Because who wants to go through all the effort of going out to eat on one of the busiest days of the year when you still have to be in bed before midnight to wake up for work? Definitely not us.
For the past couple weeks I’ve been lowkey having a breakdown writing my “about me” and trying to explain the effects body positivity has had on me and my life. It’s something I feel so strongly about but every time I try to put my experiences into words I either feel like I sound stupid or I’m trying too hard like a weird commercial targeted towards millennials where they say like “Wednesdays we squad” or some shit like that. I guess I’m just really nervous, ya know, starting a blog! A real adult blog with it’s own domain! It feels so official. I’ve always maintained my involvement with the plus size and body positive community, as well as my presence online, as just a fun little hobby I did between scrolling through memes on social media. And in many ways, it is a hobby. I spend my free time playing dress up and taking selfies, it’s fun, I love it! But I know deep down it serves such a bigger purpose for me; it’s my participation and contribution to a community that has changed my life, and it’s important to me. I never really admitted to others, or myself really, that I cared so much or worked so hard at what I do, because what if I put all this effort into sharing myself and my life with the world, and everyone hated me? or I said the wrong things? or my pictures weren’t good enough? or no one even cared at all? I’ve always wanted to have a blog like this but it meant really trying and possibly failing, so I stuck to my “no biggie its whatever just having fun” attitude on social media. But these last couple of years on tumblr and instagram have actually really helped me become more confident in being who I am and speaking my mind, and I can’t keep procrastinating until “perfection” can be achieved. So I sit here, suffering from writers block and practically drowning in anxiety, trying my damnedest to just be myself so I can tell you a little something about me without sounding like a crazy tool.
